Aggressive Poker Play

The first of the playing styles is called the ‘aggressive’ style. Now, the name might sound obvious and you wouldn’t be entirely wrong to think this. Of course the aggressive playing style involves playing aggressively and trying to scare off the opponents. To make such a playing style effective however, you will definitely need to take tactics into account.

For instance, if you were to play aggressive on each and every hand your stack probably won’t last long, because eventually the other players will have dotted the i’s and noticed that you’re bluffing (most of the time).

Now of course it’s possible for you to take the risk, because Poker is first of all a gambling game. Playing aggressively the entire time can either gain you great stacks, but it can also kick you out of the game in no time at all. The downside of playing aggressive all the time is that once you have this great stack, you will most probably lose it as quickly as you got it.

So try to combine the randomness we talked about with this aggressiveness. This means you should pick the hands you play aggressively at random. Of course, it should not be completely random. If you have a great hand you should of course always play this hand. But also try to be random with your aggressiveness, so don’t just play aggressive on good hands. Good poker players will see through you in no time. Try to make sure the other players do not have a clue what your next move will be or what idea your current move is based on. This will be the goal to achieve.
